Sending crypto for the first time can feel nerve-wracking. Once you have done it once, slowly and carefully, it becomes routine. The golden rule is simple: slow down and double-check the address. Transactions on the blockchain cannot be undone, so a little patience now prevents real regret later.
Step 1: Make sure your wallet is funded
Open your Malairte wallet and check your balance. You can only send coins you already hold, plus you need a tiny amount left over to cover the network fee. If your balance shows zero, you will need to receive some Malairte first.
Step 2: Get the correct receiving address
Ask the recipient for their Malairte address, or copy your own from another wallet if you are moving coins between your devices. Never type a long address by hand — always copy and paste, or scan a QR code if one is offered.
Step 3: Paste and verify the address
- Paste the address into the Send to field.
- Check the first four and last four characters match what the recipient gave you.
- Beware of clipboard-hijacking malware, which can swap an address after you copy it. Verifying those characters defeats it.
Step 4: Enter the amount
Type the amount of Malairte you want to send. Start with a small test amount the very first time — a tiny send proves the address works before you move anything significant.
Step 5: Review the fee
Your wallet will show a small network fee paid to miners for processing. For most transactions this is modest. Confirm you are happy with both the amount and the fee.
Step 6: Confirm and send
Press send and approve with your wallet password if asked. The transaction now broadcasts to the network. Your wallet will show it as pending until miners include it in a block.
Step 7: Track it on the explorer
Copy the transaction ID and look it up on a block explorer to watch the confirmations roll in. Once it has a few confirmations, the recipient can rely on it. Then, if you ran a test first, repeat with the full amount.
Do it slowly the first time and verify every address, and sending Malairte will quickly feel as natural as sending an email.
