When Bitcoin first appeared, it came with a quiet promise: anyone with a normal computer could take part. A student with a laptop could mine a few coins overnight. A curious tinkerer could run a node from their bedroom. The whole point was that no central authority sat in the middle deciding who was allowed in.

That promise faded fast.

Within a few years, mining Bitcoin moved from laptops to graphics cards, then to specialised ASIC machines, then to entire warehouses of them. Today, Bitcoin mining is an industrial activity run by companies with cheap power contracts and capital most families will never see. For the average person, the door has closed. You can still buy Bitcoin, but you cannot really take part in it.

A coin for the people Bitcoin left behind

Malairte (MLRT) exists to reopen that door. The project was built around a stubborn idea: a cryptocurrency should be something ordinary people can actually use, mine, and contribute to. Not just a thing they read about on the news. Not just a number on an exchange.

To make that real, Malairte was designed from the start to be CPU and GPU mineable. The chip in your laptop is enough. The graphics card you bought for gaming is enough. There is no ASIC. There is no warehouse advantage. A retired teacher in a small town can mine on the same terms as anyone else.

A fair launch, not a founder lottery

Plenty of crypto projects begin with a pre-mine, where the founders quietly create a large pile of coins for themselves before the public is allowed in. Malairte deliberately did not do that. There was no insider round, no venture capital deal, and no hidden treasury. Everyone — including the people who built it — had to mine their coins the same way you can today.

Open source, on purpose

The Malairte software is open source. Anyone can read the code, suggest improvements, or run their own version. This matters because trust in crypto should come from verification, not from a logo. If you do not trust us, do not take our word for it — read the code, or ask someone you do trust to read it for you.

Who Malairte is really for

Malairte is for the student, the veteran, the grandparent, the small-town community group. It is for the people who heard about cryptocurrency, felt locked out, and went back to their lives. The door is open again. You are welcome to walk through it at your own pace.
